No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon in Rippey. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 100 block of 3rd Street at approximately 1:35 p.m. The initial investigation revealed that 79-year-old Timothy Shay of Perry was southbound on Highway 144 in a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox. At the same time, 17-year-old Gavin Godfrey of Jamaica, who was driving a 2013 Ford Escape, was turning from 3rd Street onto the highway and pulled out in front of Shay. There was an estimated $3,000 in damage to each vehicle.
