The Manning Police Department reports a Carroll man wanted on a federal arrest warrant was taken into custody Monday evening. Law enforcement received a credible tip at approximately 9 p.m. indicating 41-year-old Jeremy Allen Werneburg had been sighted at the Cobblestone Inn and Suites in Manning. He was last seen in Carroll on Thursday evening, but he managed to avoid arrest after fleeing from a traffic stop, which was later called off due to safety concerns. Multiple area law enforcement agencies, including the Crawford, Shelby and Carroll County Sheriff’s Offices and Iowa State Patrol, responded to the scene and were able to arrest Werneburg without incident. He remains in custody at the Carroll County jail.
