Greene County authorities were called in to an unusual find last Friday afternoon. At approximately 2:06 p.m., the Greene County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 100 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction. An old building there was being demolished and during the process a headstone was located underneath the structure. Sheriff, Jack Williams, says they found the headstone covered partially by old concrete footings. The investigation revealed that Peter Farley had died in 1892, but a mistake had been made on this marker and a new one had to be created. This one is safely in place at the burial site of Farley and his wife at Beaver Cemetery in Boone County.
