Over $10,000 In Damage Reported In Weekend Accident On Hwy 30 Near Grand Junction Saturday

More than $10,000 in damage was reported following a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 30 just west of Grand Junction over the weekend. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of 30 and S Avenue at approximately 9:51 a.m. Saturday. Their initial investigation revealed a 2008 Dodge Dakota, driven by 41-year-old Jerod Baas of Ames, did not see a vehicle traveling in front of him had come to a stop and collided with the rear of a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette, driven by 71-year-old Donald Keller of West Des Moines. No injuries were reported. However, damage to the Dodge is estimated at $3,500 and $8,000 to the Keller vehicle. Baas was issued a citation for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.
