Coon Rapids Bayard won the match by controlling the net and winning the serving battle. The Crusaders finished with 20 kills and 17 aces to the Wheelers 10 kills and 7 aces.
In set 1 the Crusaders got out to an early lead before the Wheelers made a run late to pull within a few points before the Crusaders were able to put the match away. Sets 2 and 3 the Crusaders used late runs to extend small leads and then held on as Audubon didn’t quit and made small runs late in both sets.
Alexa Culbertson had a nice night for Coon Rapids Bayard leading them with 9 kills and 3 blocks. Cassidy Baker dished out 19 of their 20 assists and finished with 4 aces. Alaya Betts and Brynn Bass also served well picking up 6 and 5 aces respectively.
The Wheelers finished with 30 digs with Jaci Christensen leading the way with 9, Mattie Nielsen finished with 7 and Aleah Hermansen added 6. Hermansen dished out 8 of the teams 9 assists. Elizabeth Zaiger paced them at the net with 4 kills and she and Kali Irlmeier each had 3 blocks.
The Crusaders are back in action on Saturday at the Colfax Mingo Tournament. Audubon heads to Ar-We-Va on Tuesday on KIKD 106.7.

East Sac had to deal with a bus that broke down and had to play matches 2 and 3 instead of 1 and 2 but were still able to come away with an impressive win against one of the teams many consider to be a contender in the conference along with them.
The Raiders won the first two sets before dropping the 3rd set. They didn’t let Newell Fonda get the momentum for long and controlled the 4th set cruising to a 9 point win. The Raiders finished with 41 kills on 37 assists. They added 18 blocks and 49 digs.
Bree Boeckman had a big night with 18 kills to go with 8 digs and 4 blocks as she controlled the play at the net. Kayla Meyer led the way at setter with 19 assists and 7 digs while Maty Quirk added 14 assists to go with 11 digs and 5 kills. Bailey Wolleson finished with 7 kills, 6 digs and 3 blocks and Abby Scott had 5 kills, 6 digs and 4 blocks.

East Sac finished the night with a 3-0 win to move to 2-0 on the season. The Raiders were never really challenged only giving up 31 points combined in the 3 sets. They held GTRA to 9 in the 1st set and then gave up 11 in each of the last 2 sets.
The Raiders didn’t get a lot of opportunities to put up many stats and finished with 21 kills on 18 assists. They added 16 aces and 12 blocks.
Bree Boeckman led them in kills with 8, Kayla Meyer added 4, and Abby Scott, Kenna Meyer and Kate Vondrak each had 2. Maty Quirk led the way with 7 assists, Kayla Meyer had 4 and Vondrak added 4. Quirk had a team high 5 digs while Scott and Laryn Sharp each had 3. Scott was dominant at the service line with 8 aces, Quirk added 4 and Kayla Meyer finished with 2. Olivia Wernimont had a team high 4 blocks, Boeckman added 3 and Bailey Wollesen had 2.
The Raiders are back in action on Tuesday at IKM-Manning and the match will be on 93.7 KKRL.
