CCSD Announces Move To Hybrid Learning Model For High School Students Beginning Wednesday

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) announced this (Monday) afternoon they will be transitioning the high school to a hybrid-learning model beginning Wednesday, Sept. 2. According to Superintendent, Dr. Casey Berlau, six Carroll High School (CHS) students have tested positive for COVID-19 with an additional 95 students in quarantine. Starting Wednesday, students will be placed into two groups, which will allow the district to limit the number of individuals in the building to allow for better physical distancing and limit exposures. Under the hybrid model, students will be in class two to three days per week with individuals not in school expected to continue learning remotely. As of Monday, extracurricular and co-curricular activities will continue. Meals will be provided to all students in the hybrid model and transportation will continue as normal. The high school will remain in the hybrid model through at least the end of September, and an announcement on whether students will return to regular classes in October will be made Friday, Sept. 25. Ar-We-Va high school students participate in half-day class sharing at CHS and will also be switching to a hybrid model on Wednesday. The details of CCSD’s hybrid-learning plan can be found included below.
