Iowa State Patrol Releases Name Of Lanesboro Man Killed In Friday Afternoon Car Accident Near Lidderdale

The Iowa State Patrol has released the name of a man killed in a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon north of Lidderdale. According to authorities, 76-year-old Kenneth Lee Johnston of Lanesboro was traveling westbound at approximately 12:50 p.m. on 130th Street in a 2007 Toyota Corolla. At the same time, 20-year-old Jacob Allen Hubbs of Jefferson was traveling northbound on Robin Avenue in a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado and failed to stop for a posted stop sign. The initial investigation shows the Hubbs pickup collided with driver’s side of the Toyota. Following the collision, the Johnston vehicle entered the north ditch and came to rest facing south. The Hubbs vehicle to rest in the intersection, also facing south. Johnston was pronounced dead at the scene. Hubbs and his passenger, 43-year-old Brian Glenn Hubbs of Carroll, were transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
