IKM-Manning battled hard and nearly extended the match to 5 sets when they led set 4, 17-14. Boyer Valley answered with a 7-0 run to go up 21-17 before IKM-Manning cut it to 21-20 but that would be close as they would get. The Bulldogs extended the lead to 24-21 and won a 4th set that had 6 lead changes and 8 ties. The Bulldogs took their last lead at 18-17. The Wolves had grabbed the lead at 14-13.
Boyer Valley controlled the 1st set and only trailed 1-0. They went up 24-6 before IKM-Manning ran off 5 straight to gain some momentum. The Wolves used that momentum to pull out a hard fought 25-23 win in set 2. IKM-Manning took their last lead of the set at 21-20 and held off the Bulldogs who tied it at 22. There were 6 lead changes and 8 ties in the 2nd set. The Wolves largest lead was 4 and largest deficit was 1. They really were in control of the 2nd set but couldn’t pull away. Set 3 was similar to the first set as the Bulldogs jumped out early leading 4-0 and never trailed.
Bre Muhlbauer who was named Motor Inn Player of the Game led the Wolves with 5 Kills. Kylie Powers had 4 kills and did a nice job on the service line with a team high 3 aces. Sierra Ferry and Neveah Boland each had 3 kills. Boland and Lauren Danner led the Wolves with 12 digs each and Bianca Cadwell had 9 digs to go with a team high 3 blocks. Amber Halbur and Taylor Ferneding each had 8 assists.
The loss drops the Wolves to 0-2.
IKM-Manning if off until they host Missouri Valley on September 10th.

Audubon slips to 0-4 on the season dropping a pair of matches on Thursday. The Wheelers started well against the Spartans taking the 1st set 25-23 but struggled in the 2nd set and were forced to a 3rd set where they dropped a close match. Jaci Christensen and Elizabeth Zaiger paced them at the net with 6 kills and 5 kills respectively. Aleah Hermansen had 11 of the teams 13 assists. Johanna Sauers and freshman Mattie Nielsen each had 11 digs and 2 aces which were team highs in both. Hermansen added 6 digs and Jaci Christensen finished with 10 digs.
The CAM Anita match didn’t go as well as CAM Anita controlled the 1st set. The Wheelers played better in set 2 and nearly sent it to a 3rd set but lost a tough 2 point set at 26-24. Audubon finished with just 8 kills. Mattie Nielsen led them with 8 digs while Aleah Hermansen added 7 digs and Jaci Christensen finished with 5 digs. Audubon garnered just 4 blocks and 2 aces.
The Wheelers were scheduled to play at the South Central Calhoun tournament on Saturday but will not be attending. They will play next Thursday at home against Riverside.
