Ar-We-Va and East Sac At Ridge View Tournament
East Sac brought home the championship going 5-0 on the day to improve to 9-0 on the season. Ar-We-Va dropped all 3 of their matches against 2A schools and fell to 1-3 on the season. The Raiders went 10-1 in sets including tight wins over OA-BCIG 27-25, and 15-11 against Ridge View 15-11. They topped Ridge View twice during the tournament. The Raiders only set loss was a 21-18 loss to the Raptors. Ar-We-Va went 1-6 with their only set win a 22-20 win against Ridge View.
Bree Boeckman paced the Raiders with 39 kills including an 18 kill match against OA-BCIG. Bailey Wollesen finished with 23 kills, Olivia Wernimont added 20 and Kayla Meyer had 17. Maty Quirk was the leader with 56 assists and Meyer added 34. Boeckman and Wollesen were the leaders in digs with 33 and 19 respectively with Quirk third on the day with 18. Boeckman paced the team with 7 blocks and 4 aces while Olivia Wernimont added 6 blocks and Wollesen and Quirk each had 4 blocks.
Hannah Kraus led Ar-We-Va with 14 digs while Jamie Hausman added 7. Jadeyn Smith led the Rockets with 7 kills, Kora Obrecht added 5. Sara Schurke finished with 8 assists while Maggie Ragaller added 7.
The Raiders travel to West Bend Mallard on Thursday and Ar-We-Va hosts Exira-EHK on Tuesday.

South Central Calhoun Early Bird Tournament
South Central Calhoun finished off a 6-0 week with a 4-0 day at their tournament. The Titans went 8-2 in sets with wins over Manson NW Webster 2-0, South Hamilton 2-0 and Spencer and Pocahontas Area 2-1. South Central Calhoun improved to 7-6 on the season and won their tournament championship. The win over Spencer was a tight one with all 3 sets determined by 4 points or less. South Central Calhoun took the 3rd set 15-12 and rallied after dropping the 1st set 21-18. A 2 point loss in set 2 against Pocahontas Area forced another 3rd set and the Titans were able to hold on for a 15-13 win.
Kortney Riley continues her strong senior season leading the Titans in kills with 26 and aces with 9. Riley was 3rd on the team with 25 digs and 9 assists. Riley Batta was 2nd in kills with 20 while leading the team with 38 assists, she was also 2nd in digs with 33. Emma Geno paced the Titans with 44 digs. Keira Hammen continues to be a defensive force at the net with 11 blocks. Sophie McKinney added 5 blocks. Sally Musselman had 22 assists to go with 8 aces.
