Kuemper moved above 500 with a conference sweep at home on Tuesday. Then Knights dominated both matches at the net outhitting Clarinda 39-16 in kills and had a kill efficiency of 293 against Denison Schleswig compared to the Monarchs 010. Kuemper out blocked Clarinda 7-2 and had 6 more aces in the match. The two wins moves Kuemper to 5-4 overall.
Kenzie Schon had double digits in kills in both matches with 14 against Clarinda and 10 vs Denison Schleswig. Kamryn Venner and Sophie Badding added 10 each against Denison Schleswiga and 7 against Clarinda. Ashlyn Badding had 26 assists vs Clarinda and 21 more vs Denison Schleswig. The Knights had 3 players in double digits in digs vs Clarinda and 4 vs Denison Schleswig. Carroll evened their record at 4-4 with a come from behind win on the road in Raccoon River Conference action. The Tigers trailed early in all 4 sets but rallied back to win sets one and two 25-23. The Comets controlled the 3rd set but Carroll again rallied in the 4th set this time down 24-22. Ella Collison finished the match with a big kill. The Comets aggressive serve kept the Tigers out of system a good portion of the night but the Tigers did enough to win enough key points and used runs in sets 2 and 4 to give themselves a chance.
Collison was named Motor Inn Player of the Game finishing with 12 kills. Josie Ayala led the team with 15 kills and Kennedy Lein had her best night of the season at the net with 10 kills. Laura Sweeney finished with 38 assists and 14 digs. Hannah Jorgensen led the back row with 17 digs, Collison added 13 digs, Josie Ayala added 8 digs and Kenzie Honold finished with 7 digs. Carroll finished with just 1 ace by Jorgensen.
Carroll heads to the Spencer Tournament on Saturday.

Ar-We-Va moved to 2-3 on the season and 2-0 against 1A opponents with a Rolling Valley Conference win over the Spartans. The Rockets used their aggressiveness at the net to take a 1-0 lead. They dropped a tight second set and went back to swinging more aggressively in sets 3 and 4 and took control of the match again.
Maggie Ragaller and Sara Schurke had good nights setting the ball with both players in double digits in assists. Ragaller finished with 15 and Schurke added 11. Schurke was also tied for 2nd iwth Kora Obrecht in kills with 7. Jadeyn Smith had a team high 12 kills and 4 aces. Schurke and Hannah Kraus each had 3 aces. Kraus continues to grow as a libero and finished with a team high 11 digs.
Next up for the Rockets they travel to Paton Churdan on Thursday.

The lack of matches early in the season may be creating some growing pains for a young Wildcat team as they fall to 1-2 overall with a 3-1 loss to Rolling Valley Conference foe CAM Anita who improved to 6-1. The Wildcats lost another tight first set but battled back to win the 2nd set, evening the match up. That could be when the amount of matches played early this season may have set in as the Cougars were able to take control in sets 3 and 4.
Gretchen Wallace led the Wildcats with 14 kills, Morgan Koehler added 6. Kim Daily finished with 27 assists. Wallace had 6 blocks and Vanessa Koehler had 3.
The Wildcats host Boyer Valley on Thursday.

Paton Churdan opened the season on the road and showed improvement as the night went on. After a tough first set they bounced back and almost took the 2nd set before falling by just 2 points. The Rockets were scheduled to open the season at the Coon Rapids Bayard tournament on Saturday but it was cancelled so they hadn’t had a chance to play yet this season. They fall to 1-0 with the loss while Woodbine moves to 1-3.
Danielle Hoyle led the way with 3 kills. The Rockets had 5 players with 9 or more digs led by Carmyn Paup who finished with 14. Chloe Berns had 12 digs, Hoyle added 11 digs, Karissa Stephenson had 10 and Tessa Steimel and Avery Lanham each had 9. Hannah Bundt had a team high 3 aces.
The Rockets will host Ar-We-Va on Thursday.

Coon Rapids Bayard picked up a Rolling Valley Conference road win as the Crusaders move to 4-1 on the season. The Crusaders were never really in any trouble. They kept the Hawkeyes out of system with an aggressive serve and got a good night from their back row as well.
Alexa Culbertson continues to play well and led them with 9 kills. Cassidy Baker and Brynn Bass were part of the strong night serving with Bass having 7 aces and Baker with 6 aces. Chloe Parkis paced the back row with 23 digs, Alaya Betts finished with 12 digs and Gracy Johnson added 10 digs. Cassidy Baker had 19 of the teams 21 assists.
The Crusaders are back in action next Thursday when they host Paton Churdan.
