Gov. Kim Reynolds announced this (Thursday) afternoon she has extended the state disaster proclamation for counties affected by the Aug. 10 derecho. Twenty-seven counties are listed in the declaration, including Audubon and Greene Counties here in the listening area. The order allows state resources, such as the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant or Disaster Case Management Programs, to be utilized by Iowans to respond and recover to the effects of the powerful windstorm. The proclamation also extends the suspension of regulatory provisions regarding weight limits and hours of service for repair crews and drivers to facilitate recovery efforts.
