Gov. Reynolds Orders Flags To Half-Staff Friday In Recognition Of Patriot Day

Gov. Kim Reynolds has ordered all flags in Iowa lowered to half-staff beginning at sunrise tomorrow (Friday) in honor of Patriot Day and in memory of those killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. They are to remain lowered until sunrise on Saturday, Sept. 12. Flags on the State Capitol Building and on displays in the Capital Complex and on all public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state will be at half-staff. Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time as a sign of respect.
