CCSD And Ar-We-Va To Also Participate In USDA Free Meal Extension

More area schools will be participating in the extension of the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program beginning today (Monday). Carroll Community School District and the Ar-We-Va Community School District will be offering students one free breakfast and one free lunch each day school is scheduled through the extension deadline of Dec. 31 of this year or until funds are exhausted, whichever comes first. Those students who are under quarantine or are utilizing distance learning models may also participate in the free meal program. For Ar-We-Va, those students must contact the school at 712-663-4313 to get on the list. Once a student is on that list, they will remain so unless the school is contacted and directed otherwise. Meals for online and quarantined Ar-We-Va students can be picked up at 11:30 a.m. by parents at the elementary door. For the Carroll Community Schools, those with questions should contact the food service department at 712-775-5012. Students must take the full reimbursable meal to receive it free of charge. This includes the main course and milk for breakfast and a fruit, a vegetable, the main course and milk for lunch. Fees will be charged for seconds (if allowable and available), ala carte items, extra milk and juice. Adult meals are still chargeable.
