The Carroll Tigers rolled to their third straight win and improved to 10-5 overall and 3-1 in the Raccoon River conference remaining a game back of Bondurant Farrar and a half game behind Gilbert. The Tigers were sharp on Thursday and never were in any kind of trouble.
Ella Collison led the team with 11 kills and was followed by Josie Ayala with 7 and Gabi Hammer and Kennedy Lein with 5 and 4 respectively. Laura Sweeney who was named Motor Inn Player of the Game had 24 assists and 9 digs. The Tigers finished with 6 ace serves though their aggressive serve kept the Huskies out of system and led to many more points. Hannah Jorgensen and Collison each had a pair of aces. Jorgensen and Sweeney paced the back row with 9 digs each while Ayla and Collison added 8 and 7 respectively. Kennedy Lein had a team high 2 blocks.
Carroll hosts their tournament on Saturday morning.

Kuemper fell on the road Thursday night as they struggled with consistency. The young team continues to have some ups and downs. They had chances in sets one and three dropping set 1 by just 3 points and losing set three in extra points by 2. The loss drops Kuemper to 9-6 overall and 3-2 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference.
Kamryn Venner had a team 16 kills, Kenzie Schon was also in double digits with 11 and Sophie Badding added 8 and Frannie Glynn had 7. Ashlyn Badding continues to have a solid season finding her hitters and had 39 assists to go with 15 digs. Kenya Prescott and Venner led the back row with 23 digs each and Schon added 9. Sophie Badding had a team high 4 blocks and Ashlyn Badding added 3 blocks and a team high 3 aces. Macy Simons had 2 aces.
Kuemper heads to the CYO Tournament on Sunday.

It was a good match between two of the top teams in the Rolling Valley Conference on Thursday and Coon Rapids Bayard was able to pull out a tight 3rd set to go up 2-1 and then pulled away late with a 5-1 run to win the 4th set and improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference. The loss drops Paton Churdan to 3-2 overall and 2-2 overall.
Coon Rapids Bayard kept Paton Churdan out of system in the 1st set and got some very good play up front from Mia Leighty and Brynn Bass. Gracy Johnson and Chloe Parkis handled a tough serving Rocket club well allowing Cassidy Baker to find her hitter.
The 2nd set belonged to Paton Churdan as they got out quickly behind the serving of Chloe Berns and never trailed picking up a 25-20 win. The Rockets got Carmyn Paup and Danielle Hoyle swinging well and made some adjustments in the back row and were in system more often as they handled the Crusaders serve better.
Set three went back and forth with 11 ties and 6 lead changes. Paton Churdan looked to have grabbed an advantage rallying from down 20-15 to take a 24-23 lead by Coon Rapids Bayard extended the set and won on an ace serve to go up 2-1. That led to a 4th set that was tied 5 times and had 2 lead changes. The last tie was at 19 and Cassidy Baker was able to end the match with an ace serve.
Baker finished unofficially with 33 assists and 3 aces and was named Motor Inn Player of the Game. Brynn Bass paced the Crusaders with 14 kills, Mia Leighty added 9 and Aelxa Culbertson finished with 8. Baker added 7 kills and had a couple crucial dumps late in sets three and four. Bass had a team high 4 aces.
Danielle Hoyle led Paton Churdan with 10 kills while Carmyn Paup added 8 and Tessa Steiml finished with 6. Chloe Berns had a very nice match and had a team high 23 assists and 4 aces. Her serving kept Coon Rapids Bayard on the defensive most of the match. Hoyle added 26 digs, followed by Paup 22 and Karissa Stephenson with 22.

Ar-We-Va grabbed a nice conference win on Thursday as they bounced back from a tough loss at home on Tuesday. The win moves Ar-We-Va to 4-5 overall and 2-2 in the Rolling Valley Conference. The Rockets handled the taller Tiger team by moving the ball around and getting hitters clean looks. At tight win in set 1 and a close loss in set 2 made set 3 really important and the Rockets took care of business with an easy win giving them plenty of momentum in set 4 to end the match.
Both Maggie Ragaller with 14 assists and Sara Schurke with 12 assists had good nights finding their hitters in good shape. Jadeyn Smith was the main beneficiary with 10 kills. Schurke also hit it well out of the right and added 7 kills to go with 8 aces. Bridget Cameron also had 7 kills and Kora Obrecht had 5 kills and a team high 3 blocks. Ragaller added a team high 9 digs followed by Jamie Hausman with 8 digs and 3 aces.

East Sac improved to 16-0 overall and 6-0 in Twin Lakes Conference play as the Raiders continue to play very good volleyball. The Raiders were in control during both matches and were never really pushed with the closest set at 25-21. They held the Cougars to less than 10 points in two of their sets and allowed 11 and 16 to Storm Lake St Mary’s in sets 1 and 2.
The Raiders continued to be balanced offensively with their unofficial numbers showing Bailey Wollesen and Bree Boeckman each having 12 kills. Abby Scott added 8 kills, Olivia Wernimont had 7 kills and Maty Quirk finished with 5 kills. Quirk and Makayla Meyer paced the setters with Quirk having a combined 24 assists while Makayla finished with 21 assists. Quirk added 12 digs in the win over Storm Lake St Mary’s.
The Raiders will host Emmetsburg on Thursday, September 24th.

Audubon played their best match of the season and the young team continues to show growth as they slipped to 0-8 overall and 0-3 in the Western Iowa Conference. The Wheelers hung tough in all three sets against a Tri Center club that improved to 8-6 on the season.
Jaci Christensen led the team again with 6 kills, Johanna Sauers added 4 kills and Mattie Nielsen and Aleah Hermansen each had 3 kills. Hermansen paced the team with 8 assists and 9 digs. Nielsen and Christensen each had 7 digs. Christensen had a team high 2 blocks.
The Wheelers will travel to Underwood on Tuesday.

Lauren Danner paced the back row players with 9 digs while Neveah Boland finished with 6 kills and Macie Doyle added 5. Bre Muhlbauer and Powers each had 2 blocks.
