CCSD Board Of Education To Discuss COVID-19 Practices And Title IX Policy Updates At Next Week’s Meeting

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education convenes Monday for their regularly scheduled September meeting. Following approval of the consent agenda, public forum and personnel report, the board will move into administrative reports, which include a proposed outline of agenda items for the remaining board meetings this fiscal year, a 28E agreement with the Woodward-Granger Community School District and advertising for a transportation department secretary and activity event manager. According to Superintendent, Dr. Casey Berlau, school officials will also consider revisions to more than 10 board polices related to Title IX protections.

The school board will likely waive the required second reading of these updated policies at Monday’s meeting. The district’s administrators will also report on their respective buildings and how COVID-19 is affecting day-to-day activities. The high school shifted to a hybrid model at the beginning of September, and Berlau says the switch has substantially reduced student quarantines and positive cases.

The district is expected to announce on Sept. 25 if they will continue the hybrid model into October or return to in-person classes at the end of the month. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the district has received a higher-than-usual amount of aid from the state and federal governments, and Berlau will update the board on the status of those funds.

The Monday, Sept. 21 meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the boardroom at Adams Elementary School.
