An investigation has been opened into a report of shots fired in the 500 block of E. 18th Street in Carroll Sunday night. Carroll Police Chief, Brad Burke, says officers responded at approximately 10:56 p.m. after calls came in regarding eight to nine shots heard. Officers located spent shells behind the building, but there was no property damage and no report of injuries. At this time, the incident falls under the simple misdemeanor category as a charge of discharging a firearm within city limits. Several suspects and potential witnesses have been interviewed, but the department is still gathering information and anyone with details about the incident is asked to contact them at 792-3536.
