Sac City Woman Facing Assualt Charges For Third Time This Year After Stabbing In Sac City

A Sac City woman has been arrested following a stabbing on Tuesday. The Sac City Police Department reports they responded to the 500 block of South 9th Street at approximately 5:37 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a 26-year-old male lying on the floor with a stab wound. The suspect, 24-year-old Rae Beth Horton, was taken into custody at the scene. The victim was transported to Loring Hospital by Sac County Emergency Medical Services and later transferred to another hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds. Horton has been charged with willful injury causing serious injury, a class C felony, and domestic abuse assault with intent to cause serious injury, an aggravated misdemeanor. She is being held without bond in the Sac County jail. This is the third report of Horton being involved in an assault this year. On Aug. 17, Horton was arrested in Carroll for allegedly stabbing a woman in the upper left breast then chasing her with an axe. Horton admitted to being involved in a verbal argument with the victim, but denies the assault. An axe was found under the pillow of a bed Horton had been using. In that case, she has been charged with assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor. She was also arrested by the Audubon Police Department in February for first-offense domestic abuse assault with a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor.
