Earlier this week, a Carroll-based philanthropic group, the 712 Women on a Mission, presented a $5,300 check to the Carroll Area Child Care Center and Preschool. The 712 Women selected the organization during their quarterly meeting on Sept. 2 at the Carroll Brewing Company. The funds will be used to support the center’s efforts to build shade structures in their new playground area at their location in the 100 block of West 7th Street in Carroll. Since its founding in January, the 712 Women on a Mission have already contributed more than $15,000 to local non-profits, including the Family Resource Center and the Community of Concern. The group is always looking for new members. Each member is asked to donate $100 per quarter, which will then be collected and donated to a cause voted on by the organization.
