Many of the local candidates appearing on the Nov. 3 ballot in Carroll County are running for office uncontested, but several still chose to participate in the Carroll Chamber ,Candidate Forum on Wednesday night to ensure Carroll County voters had a chance to hear directly from them. The District 1 Carroll County Supervisor seat. Neil Bock currently holds that position but is not running for re-election. Republican, Scott Johnson, is the only person running to replace him. Johnson moved to Carroll in the late 1990s when his firm chose to build a plant expansion here. Johnson frequently attends the Carroll City Council and Supervisors meetings and says he is excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the decision-making process.
Incumbent Treasurer, Lisa Wagner, was appointed to the position in July following the resignation of Jean Seidl. Wagner is running unopposed to finish out the two years remaining in the term. She has worked in the Treasurer’s Office for nearly three decades and has experience in all facets of its duties. Wagner says she has seen a lot of change to their operations over the years, which has prepared her for this role.
Other uncontested Carroll County candidates that participated in the Chamber Forum include District 5 Supervisor, Rich Ruggles and District 3 Supervisor, Gene Meiners. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from them in upcoming newscasts.
