Republicans from Carroll County and the surrounding area will be taking part in two rides this weekend in support of President Donald Trump and Senator Joni Ernst. The Trump vehicle parade begins at 11:15 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 10 on the east side of Swan Lake State Park. Participants will gather there beginning at 10:30 a.m. for the six-mile route that comes to an end at Harley-Davidson of Carroll at 1327 Plaza Drive in time for the arrival of Joni’s Ride Across Iowa around 12 p.m. Due to the pandemic, Ernst is forgoing her annual Roast & Ride for the poker run-style event. Tickets are $10 each, and participants must show a valid motorcycle license and sign a waiver prior to joining. Money raised benefits the Puppy Jake Foundation, which provides service dogs to veterans, and the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation for derecho disaster recovery.
