Over $10,000 In Damage Reported In Weekend Accident In Jefferson

Over $10,000 in damage was reported following a two-vehicle accident in Jefferson over the weekend. The Jefferson Police Department responded to the intersection of West Harrison and South Pinet Streets at approximately 10:54 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10. Their initial investigation found a 2016 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Meadow Losee of Paton, was traveling northbound on Pinet Street and approached the uncontrolled intersection. Authorities say Losee failed to yield to a westbound 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Jennifer Schiltz of Jefferson. The Losee vehicle collided with the Schiltz truck, resulting in approximately $5,000 in damage to the Hyundai and $6,000 to the pickup. Losee was cited for failure to yield to a vehicle on the right.
