The Glidden Parks and Recreation Department is searching for residents or businesses interested in participating in the community’s annual Trunk-or-Treat this weekend. According to Administrator, Brooke Peterson, more than 200 kids take part in the event each year, but only a handful of people have registered to decorate a truck. Peterson says there is no cost to sign up, and participants only need to decorate the back of the car, SUV or truck and hand out candy to the costumed children. The Glidden Parks and Recreation Board will vote on the most creative decorations with a $20 prize for third place, $30 for second and $50 for first place. Trunk-or-Treat begins at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25 at City Park. To register or for more information, contact Glidden City Hall at 712-659-3010.
