Lytton Fire Department Invites Public To Saturday Open House At New Fire Station

The Lytton Fire Department is inviting the public to join them this weekend for an open house at their new fire station. According to Chief, Troy Arndt, construction on the $350,000 structure finished only a week ago. The department had operated out of the same structure for nearly a century, and he says they are thrilled to show off their new home. The station features increased storage, training areas and space for modern firefighting equipment. The open house runs from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. Volunteers will be serving steak sandwiches and hamburgers during the event for a freewill donation. Attendees can purchase t-shirts to show their support for the Lytton Fire Department, and raffle tickets will be available during the event for $5 each or five for $20 with a drawing planned in December for a chance to win a whole hog or firefighter quilt donated by Lytton resident, Darleen Degner. Families are encouraged to bring their children by in their costumes, as firefighters will be handing out candy for Halloween. Money raised during the open house will be used to purchase some finishing items for the station’s interior.
