Contractors broke ground this week for new senior housing units in Glidden. The project is a joint effort between the City of Glidden, Region XII Council of Governments (COG), Peace Lutheran Church and other similar organizations. Three deteriorating homes were torn down last fall to make room for the new structures with the new residences expected to be finished by next summer. Region XII is acting as both the developer and landlord for the senior housing duplexes. When completed, four units will be available for rent to individuals at least 62 years of age with an income at or below 80 percent of Carroll County annual median household income.
