Auburn – Steve Janssen, 54, died Thursday, October 29, 2020 at his home surrounded by loved ones after a brave battle against cancer. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Oaklawn Cemetery, Auburn.
Steve was born on February 2, 1966 in Davenport, Iowa to Dale and Irene (Berns) Janssen. After graduating from high school, Steve joined the United States Army, serving from 1984-1986. He worked at Farner-Bocken in Carroll for 20 years. Steve enjoyed life on the farm and the outdoors, he loved music and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Steve is survived by his wife Mary of Auburn; children Christopher (Danielle) of Wall Lake, Tiffany (Derek) Cooper of Westside, Daniel of Fort Dodge, and Steffany of Carroll; grandchildren Abel, Daryl, Theo, Lana, and Tatum; sister Sheila Janssen of Lake City; brother-in-law Aaron Stone of Ankeny; nieces and nephew Casey (Daniel) Dinkel of Carroll, Nathan Stone and Kayla Stone of Ankeny; and aunts and uncles Darlene Owens of Sac City, Warren and Jean Kruse of Creston and Dewey and Elaine Janssen of Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Stacie Stone.
