There was an estimated total of about $9,000 in damage to two vehicles in an accident northeast of Carroll Monday. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene at 160th Street and Noble Avenue at approximately 11 p.m. Twenty-eight-year-old Cody Charles Hicks of Lake City was southbound on Noble Avenue in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado K1500. Seventeen-year-old Acian Mark Chance Thelen of Odebolt was westbound on 160th in a 2008 Pontiac G6. The investigation revealed that Thelan failed to stop at a posted sign and broadsided the Hicks truck, pushing both into the southwest ditch. No injuries were reported and there was an estimated $4,500 in damages to each vehicle. Thelan was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way.
