American Home Shield’s corporate offices have confirmed sizable employee layoffs have occurred within the company as part of a substantial restructuring that does include their Carroll facility. A corporate spokesperson said Friday, “Yesterday (Thursday), we shared information with associates about the redefinition of the tele-sales function within our business. Although this brought especially hard news to those affected, it was a necessary strategic transition for the continued growth and long-term success of the company. It was a very difficult decision to conduct job eliminations that included 8% of our workforce in Carroll.” Company officials did not provide details on the exact number of jobs cut but note there are no plans at this time for the positions to be outsourced to any overseas resources. The spokesperson says they are providing severance packages and outplacement assistance to affected employees. American Home Shield is a former ServiceMaster Company that was purchased by Front Door, Inc. in 2018.
