Iowa Workforce Development Sets Jan. 2 As Opening Date For Relocated IowaWORKS Office In Denison

Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) has announced the future site of the Denison IowaWORKS Office that is being relocated from Carroll. The new facility will officially open on Jan. 2, 2021 at 504 Highway 39 in Denison. IWD officials announced in December of 2019 the Carroll office would be moving to Denison in order to reach a broader number of people in need of employment assistance and resources. They had originally planned to have the new site open by June but were delayed by a variety of factors including the COVID-19 pandemic. Iowa Workforce Development Director, Beth Townsend, says, “After working with local leaders, legislators and the workforce development board to plan the relocation, we couldn’t be more excited for the facility to open its doors and connect Crawford County residents with employment services. The new location will expand services to more Iowans and connect them with new opportunities.” She says the center will be a “one-stop shop” for job-seekers and employers in Denison and the surrounding area once it has opened. IowaWORKS services will still be available at the Carroll location, but state officials have not released a predicted opening time for the expansion office.
