Formal Charges Filed Against Two People Accused Of Recent Vehicular Burglary Spree In Carroll

Formal charges were filed last week against two individuals believed to be responsible for a recent string of motor vehicle burglaries in Carroll. Carroll County District Court records show 19-year-old Austin Eugene Eslick of Ames and 19-year-old Kaela Rose Schultz of Carroll have each been charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony, third-degree burglary, a class D felony, and six counts of motor vehicle burglary and one count of credit card fraud, aggravated misdemeanors. An investigation by the Carroll Police Department determined Eslick and Shultz had taken items from the garage of an occupied home and numerous unlocked cars throughout town between Nov. 3 and Nov. 4. Additionally, the pair is accused of attempting to use a stolen debit card at a Carroll retailer. Their arraignment hearings have been scheduled for Monday, Nov. 30.
