Glidden-Ralston Joins Growing List Of Area Schools To Require Face Coverings

The Glidden-Ralston Community School District is the latest on a growing list of area schools to have implemented a mask mandate for students, teachers and visitors on school grounds. The district started the year with only a recommendation for face coverings, but that changed to a requirement following Monday’s school board meeting. Beginning tomorrow (Wednesday), Nov. 18, individuals will be required to wear a face mask or two-ply neck gaiter while on school property. In a message to stakeholders, Superintendent, Kreg Lensch, says, “We are very aware that there are a lot of opinions related to a face covering requirement and we have worked hard to accommodate all of those opinions. At this time, we feel we have no choice but to follow the state and county mandate. The wearing of face coverings will eliminate any need for us to contact trace in school if both parties are wearing one properly.” Lensch calls for the community to pull together and follow Gov. Kim Reynolds’ statewide mask mandate to ensure in-person education remains viable during the pandemic.
