A Sac County man was injured in an accident at a construction zone on Interstate 29 Tuesday. The Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene near the Pacific Junction, Glenwood and Plattsmouth, Neb. exit at approximately 12:34 p.m. Sixty-year-old William McBee of Dunlap, Tenn. Was northbound on I29 and had entered the construction zone in a 2014 Peterbilt semi-tractor trailer. One of the construction workers, 70-year-old Wayne Hansen of Schaller, attempted to cross the single lane of travel to the west and was hit by the semi. He was transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center by Glenwood Rescue Services. The Mills County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
