Corn Board Manufacturing Announces Plans For New Production Facility In Sac County

Sac County will be the home of an innovative bio-manufacturer’s newest production facility. On Monday, Corn Board Manufacturing Inc. and McMahon Engineering and Architecture announced they were partnering to design a zero-carbon wood substitute fabrication plant near Odebolt. Sac County Economic Development and Tourism Executive Director, Brandy Ripley, who helped recruit the company, explains what Corn Board is planning for at their new site.

According to Corn Board CEO, Lane Segerstrom, their material is lighter and performs as well or better than traditional wooden pallets. The 50,000 square foot plant will be located about a mile west of Odebolt on Highway 175, and the company is hoping to begin construction next year. Ripley says the company purchases corn stover bales from local farmers, granting them another potential source of income from their crop.

There currently is not a definitive timeline for construction, but Ripley hopes the plant will be operational by the fall of 2021. She says this will be a significant boost to the local economy.

Ripley adds the project will also be a major addition to the county’s property tax base. For more information on Corn Board Manufacturing and its products, follow the link included below.
