Gov. Kim Reynolds announced today (Monday) the completion of her latest tour of all 99 counties in Iowa. The 2020 tour was Reynolds’ fourth as governor and 11th since taking office as lieutenant governor under Terry Branstad. Reynolds says, “Every year, I look forward to the chance to visit all 99 counties across the great state of Iowa. I believe as the governor it’s both my responsibility and my opportunity to connect with Iowans of all walks of life and make sure every voice is heard.” The annual tour was put on hold in March, April, May and most of June due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which was the primary topic during many of her visits. From coronavirus response to this summer’s derecho, Iowans have faced many unique challenges this year. Reynolds says, “These visits served as another reminder of just what makes our state unlike any other: our people. Iowans know what it means to stand up and come together for one another.” Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg have visited all 99 counties every year while in office.
