A long-standing holiday tradition in Audubon County will see a COVID-related shift this year. In years past, the Audubon County Sheriff’s Office partnered with area businesses to place Salvation Army collection kettles at their locations and volunteers manned several bell-ringing efforts as well. Due to the health concerns associated with the pandemic, the Sheriff’s Office has announced they will not be holding in-person bell-ringing campaigns. Those are moving to the virtual realm and their team is calling on everyone to help support their residents as 90 percent of everything they raise will stay in Audubon County. The effort is open now and will run through Dec. 23 and donations can be made by following the link included below. One of the best ways you can help? Spread the word and share that link with others. The red counter kettles will still be available for donations through Dec. 23 as well. These are located at Medicap Pharmacy, Present Company, The Bakery on Broadway, Lori’s Flowers, Ace Hardware and El Adobe.
