Past Week Sees Increases In Motor Fuels And Heating Oil Prices, Little Change In Propane And Natural Gas

Motor fuels and home heating oil prices all saw increases over the past week, but propane and natural gas held steady or saw slight declines. AAA Iowa reported an average price of $2.01 for regular unleaded in the state. This reflects a $.04 increase from the week prior, but is still $.36 lower than this time one year ago. The national average came in $.05 higher than a week ago at $2.16. Retail diesel also went up by $.04 cents on average in the sate at $2.27. This is $.16 lower than the national average of $2.43 and $.58 lower than last year. Propane prices held state for an average of $1.11 per gallon while natural gas prices dropped a penny to $2.87 per MMbtu. Home heating oil, however went up by $.09 from last week, ending with a statewide average of $1.91 per gallon.
