A Jefferson man was arrested after burning an officer with a lit cigarette. The Jefferson Police Department responded to the 900 block of West Lincoln Way Street at approximately 10:44 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5. They were called to the scene by the resident who said her adult son was tearing up her property. An officer made contact with the suspect, 24-year-old Keegan Wayne Williams, who during the interaction proceeded to burn the officer on the wrist. Williams was taken into custody and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a serious misdemeanor, and interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor.
