The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has reported an ongoing drug investigation in Iowa has uncovered 82 pounds of methamphetamine. In a press release this (Wednesday) morning, they say the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Task Force, based in Waterloo, along with the FBI and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement served seven search warrants at locations in and around Jefferson, Waterloo and Van Horne in late October. In addition to the 82 pounds of methamphetamine, 10 pounds of marijuana, 1.5 pounds of heroin, $28,000 in cash and two guns were also seized. As of yet, no arrests have been made. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) of Cedar Rapids, The Marshalltown Mid Iowa Drug Task Force, Ames Central Iowa Drug Task Force, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) the United States Postal Inspection Service along with the Waterloo Police Department, the Greene, Benton and Tama County Sheriff’s Offices and the Iowa State Patrol are aiding in this ongoing investigation.
