Lake View residents are getting into the holiday spirit this weekend with the community’s annual Candyland Christmas. While festivities are being held, organizers have had cut many of the activities from the schedule this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, families will still be able to bring their children by the American Legion Hall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for a visit with Santa Claus. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy free carriage rides during that time if weather permits. The traditional community Christmas tree lighting on Main Street in downtown is slated for shortly after 4 p.m. Participants are asked to practice physical distancing and wear face coverings if they plan to attend. Candyland Christmas is funded through contributions from the Lake View Community Club and the City of Lake View.
