IKM-Manning: 27
The IKM-Manning Wolves had a difficult night against the Exira-EHK Spartans on both sides of the ball, falling to the Spartans Monday night. The undefeated Spartans were aggressive from the start not giving the Wolves space to pull off anything offensively. The first quarter was all Spartans as they led 15-4. The best quarter for the Wolves came in the second as they were able to score 12. Bianca Cadwell was able to lead this IKM-Manning team with six-second quarter points. The Spartans would keep the zone defense pressure on in the second quarter, not allowing the Wolves to set up their offense. The Spartans would go on to record 18 second quarter points and keep the lead going into halftime at 33-16.
The Wolves attempted to apply some pressure in the second of their own with a good defensive look, but it wasn’t enough for the efficient Spartans. The third quarter saw the Spartans score a game best 24 points behind Macy Emgarten’s nine points. The Wolves tried to keep up with the pace of the Spartans, seeing some success with their zone defensive, but scoring was troublesome for the Wolves. In the final quarter of play, the Spartans would be kept to eight points while the Wolves would record four points. In the end, the Wolves were unable to keep up with the Spartans as they lost 65-27.
On the night, Bianca Cadwell was able to nab herself a double-double recording 10 points, 10 rebounds, with two assists and a steal. Behind her was Alexa Ahrenholtz with six rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal. As a team, the Wolves would score 35% of their field goals, 8% of their three pointers and go two for 12 from the free throw line. The Wolves fall to 1-5 on the season as Exira-EHK improve to 5-0.
The IKM-Manning Wolves will travel to face off against the Tri-Center Trojans on Friday, December 18.
