The Carroll County Compensation Board is scheduled to meet tomorrow (Thursday) evening to discuss and make a recommendation for any changes to elected officials’ salaries as Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 budget preparations continue. The Compensation Board consists of seven Carroll County residents: one appointed by each elected department head and two from the Board of Supervisors. These individuals will convene at 5 p.m. remotely via Zoom and will start the meeting by electing a chairman, vice chairman and secretary to oversee and record their deliberations. The Compensation Board reviews pay and benefits of Carroll County’s elected leaders and compares them to others in the region as well as their private sector equivalents. If an adjustment is necessary, they will recommend a change to the Board of Supervisors, which will then be taken into consideration for inclusion in the FY22 budget. The Compensation Board may also choose to meet additional times for addition discussions if a recommendation is not agreed upon Thursday. Details on how to attend the meeting remotely can be found included below.
