AC-GC At Glidden Ralston
Glidden Ralston 59
AC-GC 48
Glidden Ralston looked sharp in garnering their 2nd win of the season. The Wildcats for a second straight game started quickly this time getting out 8-0 behind 3’s from Tiela Janssen and Paige Klocke. Much like the game Tuesday against CAM Anita the Wildcats then gave up a run to fall behind. They trailed 10-8 late in the 1st quarter but unlike Tuesday the Wildcats had an answer tonight. They went back ahead 11-10 at the end of the 1st quarter and after falling behind 15-14 got three straight 3’s to go up for good at 23-15. Tiela Janssen hit a couple of those 3’s as the Wildcats extended the lead to 29-16 and led at the half 29-18.
AC-GC pulled within 9 early in the 3rd but Morgan Koehler hit a 3 and Gretchen Wallace followed up with another 3 and the Wildcats were up 39-23. They finished the game with nine 3’s with all five starters making at least one. Their lead grew to 20 by the end of the 3rd but AC-GC came out more aggressive on defense to start the 4th and Glidden Ralston had a few turnovers. The game got as close as 11 but never in single digits. Part of the struggles in the 4th was the free throw line as the Wildcats finished 12-25 from the line.
Gretchen Wallace ended up leading a balanced attack with 22 points and 7 rebounds while Kim Daily added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, Paige Klocke had 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists, Tiela Janssen scored 9 points and Morgan Koehler finished with 8 points.
The Wildcats moved to 2-4 on the season and will travel to Ar-We-Va on 93.7 KKRL on Friday night.

Boyer Valley at Audubon

Boyer Valley 33
After winning their first game against Tri-Center, the Audubon Wheelers were able to win another dominant game, this time against the Boyer Valley Bulldogs. The first quarter started off with a 4-0 run for the Bulldogs with a few ties throughout the quarter. The Wheelers, down 14-13, would gain back the lead with a three pointer from Sophomore Sienna Albertsen to make it 16-14. The Bulldogs tied up the game again at 16 points, that tie was broken by Jaci Christensen who was given the easy layup to end the first quarter with a score of 16-14. While the second quarter was the lowest scoring quarter, being seven points, the Wheelers would stay on top of their game and keep the Bulldogs to three points in the second quarter. All seven second quarter points for the Wheelers would be scored by Christensen. The wheelers would hold on to the first half lead at a score of 23-17.
The Wheelers were able to put aside their second half struggles from other games and put on a dominant performance to close out the game. Christensen would outdo herself by scoring 11 points in the third quarter and use her 5’10” frame to use on the defensive side of the ball. The Bulldogs were unable to do much offensively as they were held to eight points in the third quarter. In the final quarter of play, leading 44-25, Aleah Hermensen would perform well this quarter with 9 points and secure the win. The Wheelers were able to cruise past the Bulldogs 61-33.
Individually, Christensen would end her night with a double-double posting 18 points, 15 rebounds, one assist, and three steals. Hermensen would have a team high 22 points along with two rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Also impressive on the night was Johanna Sauers who had the second most rebounds with seven. The Wheelers improve to 2-4 as the Boyer Valley Bulldogs fall to 1-6.
The Wheelers will stay home to defend their court against the Logan-Magnolia Panther on Friday, December 18.
