SCC Superintendent Releases Updated Guidance For Students And Families For After Winter Break

South Central Calhoun (SCC) Superintendent, Brad Anderson, has released updated guidance for students and families in the district for the return to classes after winter break. According to him, day-to-day activities will be looking much more like normal starting in January. SCC’s second semester begins Jan. 19 and students without documentation indicating a demonstrable need for remote learning will no longer have access to online resources. Anderson notes families with verified medical concerns will still be supported into the second semester. At varying points in the school year so far, SCC utilized additional early outs to provide time for staff to assist quarantined or remote learners and sanitize classrooms. With vaccines soon available to the public, SCC will return to their board-approved calendar, meaning these extra early outs are coming to an end. For the time being, face coverings will still be required while on district property, but school officials say they are communicating with public health officials to determine when this requirement can safely end. SCC students return to classes after break on Monday, Jan. 4. Updates on COVID-19 protocols can be found on the district’s homepage, a link to which is included below.
