Carroll struggled out of the break, turning the ball over helping the Blue Jays get back in the game.

West Harrison At Coon Rapids Bayard
Coon Rapids Bayard 39
West Harrison 38
It wasn’t pretty but Coon Rapids Bayard heads into the break 3-3 overall and 3-3 in the Rolling Valley Conference as they held on to beat West Harrison. The Crusaders had a chance to put the game away late. They were up by 8 with a couple minutes left but struggled from the line where they would finish 7 of 18 for the game. The defense which played well most of the night fell asleep with a 39-32 lead and just over a minute remaining and gave up a wide open three from the top of the key. They didn’t pick up the Hawkeye ball handler as he crossed half court. West Harrison trimmed it to 1 on another 3 off an offensive rebound and kick out.
The game had seven lead changes and was tied 4 times. The last tie was at 30. Tanner Oswald knocked down two free throws to make it 31-30 during that stretch and the Crusaders never trailed again. Gabe Obert hit a big 3 late in the 3rd to tie the game at 27 and Oswald put the Crusaders up 29-27 early in the 4th. West Harrison answered with a 3 to go up 30-29 before Oswald hit the free throws.
Gabe Obert finished the game with three made 3’s and led the way with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Tanner Oswald added 13 points and 7 rebounds while going 4-6 from the free throw line. Josue Ramirez had a nice game on the boards with 9 rebounds and Lance Clayburg finished with 5 rebounds.

East Sac At SE Valley
East Sac 49
SE Valley 46
East Sac held on in the 4th quarter to pick up their 4th straight win as they head into the break 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the Twin Lakes Conference. The Raiders nearly let one slip away in the 4th as SE Valley extended their defense in the 4th. East Sac handled the pressure well but went cold from the field missing several shots. SE Valley heated up in the 4th and hit a 3 to cut it to a 1 point game with twenty three seconds left in the game. Tyler Wright was able to extend the lead to 3 as he hit both ends of a one and one and then the defense came up with a stop to seal the game.
Tyler Schmitt helped the Raiders set the tone early as he dominated things inside. Joel Halbur was really good on the defensive end, getting several deflections along with a couple buckets and the Raiders led 19-13 heading to the 2nd stanza. The defense cranked up things even more in the 2nd quarter holding SE Valley to 9 points.
The lead remained around 10 most of the 3rd quarter and grew to 14 at one point. It was cut to 10 by the end of the 3rd but the Raiders felt pretty good with the way their defense was playing.
