Carroll DMACC Extends Holiday Break; This Is The Perfect Time To Check Out Spring Semester Programs

Students at Carroll’s Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) campus are now on holiday break, but Provost, Joel Lundstrom, says it has definitely been a tough semester for students and staff. They were able to act quickly this past fall to address COVID-related issues up front.

The administration has also decided to make some changes to the spring semester to get ahead of the potential for break-related surges.

Lundstrom says up until Jan. 19, it is a great time to stop by DMACC and get more information on the classes available. He adds that with the job-related COVID issues and the fact that acquiring more education is a popular New Year’s resolution, they are expecting to see the possibilities for increased enrollment in the spring semester. The other important things to begin researching before the next semester starts are opportunities for tuition assistance.

Technology is one of the growing areas of study Lundstrom says they have been seeing since they introduced their computer language program a few years ago in a partnership with Accenture in their Rural Forge project. There is added assistance for that 35-hour diploma program.

He says it takes about a year to a year and a half and students can then get a job with local companies or possibly an internship with Accenture. For those wanting more information, they can call 712-792-1755 or follow the link included below.
