The Lake City Council has approved a request from the Lake City Police Department to update their department’s logo. Administrator, Eric Wood, says several officers approached the council at their Dec. 21 meeting with the new design.
It also features prominent black Lake City Police lettering on a gray background outlined in light blue. Another neat aspect of the new logo is that members of the department assisted in its design. Wood says residents can expect the new patches to be appearing on officer uniforms very soon, but it may take a bit longer for the old logo to be fully replaced.
According to Wood, replacing the old logo will not cost taxpayers a significant sum. A lot of 350 patches is only a few hundred dollars. A picture of the Lake City Police Department’s new badge can be found included with this story on our website.
