The Jefferson Police Department had received reports of burglaries throughout the day on Tuesday. One from the 900 block of West Harrison Street at approximately 9:49 a.m. and two that occurred sometime in the overnight hours, one in the 100 block of South West Street and the other from a vehicle in the 300 block of North Pinet Street. At approximately 1:57 p.m. a Greene County deputy attempted to pull over a minivan at 222nd Street and R Avenue, east of Jefferson. The driver, 43-year-old Joe Blackmon of Jefferson, fled, but later stopped for authorities. Blackmon was arrested for driving while barred, but it was a passenger, 37-year-old Brandon Lee Kious, that was found to be in possession of several items reported stolen throughout Greene County. Charges are pending against Kious. Then, at approximately 2:22 p.m. the Sheriff, Jack Williams, spotted a man wanted on outstanding warrants at the Jefferson Casey’s store. Forty-year-old Ryan Douglas Patterson fled on foot and the Sheriff gave chase. Patterson entered a residence in the 400 block of North Maple Street, but another male at the residence denied Patterson had entered the home. A short time later, Patterson walked out of the house and was taken into custody on numerous outstanding Jefferson Police Department warrants. Following his arrest, authorities entered the home and recovered more stolen property from recent burglaries. The male resident, 64-year-old Gilbert James Montgomery, was charged with interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor. These investigations are ongoing and more charges are possible.
