$8,000 In Damage Reported Following Two-Vehicle Collision North Of Guthrie Center Saturday Afternoon

No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident on Saturday near Springbrook State Park in Guthrie County. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene on 180th Trail at approximately 12:25 p.m. Their initial investigation revealed a 2017 Dodge Ram 2500, driven by 58-year-old Harry Taylor Armstrong of Badger, was traveling westbound on 180th and was turning right into a field drive to turn around. A 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by 19-year-old Monty James Westphalls of Guthrie Center was also traveling westbound behind the Armstrong vehicle and was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision with the rear passenger side of the truck. Damage to the Armstrong pickup is estimated at $5,000 and $3,000 to Westphalls’ Cobalt.
