The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is reminding hunters that many of the winter hunting seasons will be ending soon. Pheasant, archery turkey and deer, and late muzzleloader deer season all close on Sunday, Jan. 10. Goose season end dates are staggered with the north zone ending first on Saturday, Jan. 9, followed by the south zone on Jan. 16 and the Missouri River zone on Jan. 23. Quail, partridge, ruffed grouse and squirrel season closes Jan. 31 while rabbit season continues until the end of February. Furbearer hunting and trapping seasons also close on Jan. 31, but fur harvesters can continue trapping beavers through April 15.
