Four people were injured in a Carroll County accident Saturday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene northeast of Arcadia at approximately 12:39 p.m. The initial investigation revealed that 26-year-old Tyler Mattingly of Fort Dodge was westbound on 170th Street, just west of Falcon Avenue, in a 2008 Dodge passenger car and 29-year-old Brandon Kramer of Lanesboro was eastbound on 170th in a 2015 Chevrolet pickup. As Mattingly crested a hill, his vehicle was over the center line and he struck the Kramer truck head-on. The collision caused the Kramer truck to roll over once, coming to rest on its wheels in the south ditch. Three of the four injured were airlifted to a Des Moines hospital with serious injuries, this includes Mattingly, 25-year-old Jacob Lawler of Wall Lake and 21-year-old Jordan Downs of Denver, Colo. Carroll County Emergency Medical Services transported 22-year-old Aubri Roper of Paton to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for treatment of her injuries. The responding troopers believe distracted driving may have been a factor in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
