A Carroll man arrested on burglary charges in December has been scheduled for trial in February. According to Carroll County District Court records, 30-year-old Brice Edward Shrimpton faces one count of second-degree burglary, a class C felony. A Carroll Police Department affidavit alleges Shrimpton kicked his way into a residence in the 800 block of N. Court Street during the early morning hours of Dec. 14. Authorities say he violated an existing protective order and broke out several windows during the incident. Shrimpton filed a written not guilty plea to the felony charge Monday. His jury trial is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Feb. 9 with a pretrial conference slated for Jan. 25. He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines if found guilty of the charge.
